The Angels were calling out to me for this week’s reading:
In the beginning of the week, we have Archangel Raziel helping us with Epiphany. In traditional decks, this card is the Hermit. The Hermit is about a time when we need to retreat and be by ourselves. I like that this deck defines this card as Epiphany, because it sort of implies that our strongest epiphanies come when we are by ourselves.
Sometimes, we may not want to be on our own. But the times when we are forced to be on our own can show us many things about ourselves that we wouldn’t know if we didn’t get that intimate alone time with ourselves.
Maybe the dose of medicine that we need sometimes is to not have any distractions from our own thoughts and feelings, but to just sit with those thoughts and feelings and ask them what they have to teach us. We can really be our own best teachers.
In the middle of the week we have the 9 of Gabriel. This card has a little bit more emphasis on relationships, so once we take this time to strengthen our relationship with ourselves it will have a strengthening effect on all of our other important relationships. In traditional decks this card shows a single person with a bandage on his head, tending to his wands and looking on guard. I like that this deck shows Archangel Gabriel with the person. To me that shows that through faith and perseverance, we can know that we aren’t really ever alone, and that we have plenty of support.
Another aspect to this card that I am feeling will come into play in the middle of the week is feeling like you’re burnt out and at the end of your rope, but then something comes in that helps you see the light at the end of the tunnel and you persevere and keep going.
At the end of the week the 7 of Gabriel comes in. Archangel Gabriel is a very encouraging and motivating Archangel, so if you need extra motivation and encouragement this week, call on Archangel Gabriel. She encourages you on your highest and best life purpose. Only you know what this is for you, so even if you feel opposition from the outside world, keep going!
If you receive criticism from the outside world in regards to what you truly feel is your life purpose (meaning it is something that you truly enjoy and is benefiting the world around you), see this for what it is; a projection of their own fears and/or insecurities, and forgive them for it. If the criticism and/or fear comes from you, forgive yourself for it. Either way, I am feeling like this card at the end of the week will show you what is worth standing up for.
This is a very self-motivating week, but at the same time know that you are not alone. If anything, this week will show you that you are your own best friend, as well as redefine for you what influences in your life are helping you and which are draining you.
